    Product knowledge

What actually makes a tape hold

On a shade card, most polyester tape looks the same. The difference shows up on the third wash, or the day someone hangs 80 kg from a bag handle. Here is what we control.

Strong yarn, not just thick yarn

We use 1100 dtex high-strength yarn. Cheap tape often hides weaker recycled yarn inside, which you cannot see from outside. This one thing decides how much weight the tape will take — and it is the easiest place to cut corners.

    The edge will not unravel

Our looms knit a lock along the edge of the tape. Cut it anywhere and the edge still holds. That is why bag and harness makers can cut it to length right on the floor, without a hot knife.

    Heat-set before it ships

Polyester loosens when it gets hot. We heat every lot at 180 °C first, so the tape holds its size when you press it. Shrinkage stays under 1%.

    Colour that stays

We dye at 130 °C under pressure, so the colour goes inside the yarn instead of sitting on top. It scores grade 4–5 for washing, rubbing and sunlight. We test every lot, not once a year.

    One lot, one shade

Wherever the dyeing machine allows it, we dye your whole order in one go. When an order is split into two batches, the two lots never match exactly — and no amount of checking fixes that afterwards.

    Papers with the goods

The test certificate, the approved colour reference and the OEKO-TEX declaration go along with the invoice. Your buyer's audit team will ask for them, so they are already in the box.

    Standard range

    Specifications we run every week

Everything in this table is a normal, everyday order. We can make other types too, and custom widths in steps of 1 mm.

Standard polyester tape constructions, widths, weights and breaking strengths
Construction Width range Thickness Weight Breaking strength Typical use
    Plain weave 6 – 50 mm 0.8 mm 9 g/m 450 kgf Apparel trims, drawcords, labels
    Twill weave 15 – 75 mm 1.2 mm 16 g/m 760 kgf Bag handles, luggage straps
    High-tenacity webbing 20 – 100 mm 1.8 mm 28 g/m 1,250 kgf Fall-arrest harness, lifting slings

The breaking strength shown is for the widest size in each range, tested by the ASTM D5035 method. Width can vary by ±0.5 mm and weight by ±5%.

    Where it ends up

    Four industries, one factory floor

We do not take every tape enquiry that comes to us. These four are the ones our looms, our dyeing and our testing are really set up for.

    • Bags & luggage — handles, shoulder straps, binding tape and zip pulls for eight domestic brands.
    • Apparel trims — drawcords, waistband tape, cap straps and branded jacquard tape.
    • Safety & PPE — fall-arrest harness webbing and lifting slings, batch-tested and traceable.
    • Automotive & furniture — seat-belt-grade webbing, FR-treated interior tape, sofa elastic.

    Where it is used

Which one do you actually need?

The same tape does very different jobs depending on how it is woven. Here is where each of our three qualities usually ends up, so you can pick without guessing.

    Plain weave

    6–50 mm wide

    • Drawcords and hood cords
    • Waistband and neck tape inside garments
    • Label and badge backing
    • Bag lining and edge binding
    • Curtain and blind tape

    Twill weave

    15–75 mm wide

    • Bag and rucksack handles
    • Luggage and trolley straps
    • Belt and strap making
    • Furniture and upholstery webbing
    • Pet collars and leads

    High-tenacity webbing

    20–100 mm wide

    • Safety harness and fall-arrest webbing
    • Lifting slings and cargo straps
    • Seat belt style straps
    • Load-bearing bag straps
    • Industrial tie-downs

    Packing and despatch

    How it reaches you

    • Wound 100 m to a roll on a paper core, then poly-bagged
    • 25 m and 50 m spools if you sell it on — ask at PI stage
    • Rolls of one colour are boxed together and labelled by colour and width
    • The QC sheet for the lot goes inside the carton, not by email
    • E-way bill raised the same day the goods leave

    How an order runs

Enquiry to dispatch in 7–10 days

Nothing is hidden. One person looks after your order on WhatsApp, and you get an update at each of these five stages.

Repeat orders skip steps 1 and 2. Once a shade and construction are approved, we hold the recipe on file and go straight to the loom.
